Responding to a critical statewide need, Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater has developed an affordable 28 day inpatient treatment program for those with alcohol, drug abuse and compulsive gambling addictions.

The program features cost-effective treatment for voluntary clients seeking assistance with a spectrum of addictive disorders.

Taking an interdisciplinary approach with services overseen by a physician, the dignified setting helps clients gain insight into their destructive patterns of behaviors, replacing them with healthy coping skills.

Inpatient treatment for an intensive three-week period, supplemented with a variety of personalized aftercare services, helps individuals develop techniques to overcome the emotional pressures and environmental triggers that lead to relapse.

COMPULSIVE GAMBLING

Compulsive Gambling is a disease similar to other addictions. Successful treatment usually involves intensive inpatient care. Studies show that less than 2% of those who try only outpatient therapy do not continue treatment after one year and seldom effectively overcome their gambling addictions. However, the success rate increases significantly with inpatient treatment, education and structured aftercare programs.

Windmoor's focus on treating gamblers is rare. Compulsive gambling has not received as much recognition as other addictions; therefore, treatment programs are scarce.
